Ponta Lopud Film Festival announces that Croatian director Dana Budisavljevic has been selected to join the Lopud Artist Retreat in the spring 2024. Dana will spend four weeks on Lopud island, with other selected artists, where she will work on developing her new film Sport Fishing.

Dana’s first feature film The Diary of Diana B. won the Golden Arena at the 2019 Pula Film Festival for Best Film and Best Director, making her the first female director to receive the main festival award since 1957. The film has won over 30 awards.

Dana Budisavljevic was a participant at the 2021 Ponta Lopud Film Festival, attending Pawel Pawlikowski’s masterclass.

“Participating at Lopud Artist Retreat will be like going back to the great feeling of 2021 and exploring the possibilities of Ponta Lopud, as a key point in creating new trends and building Ponta Lopud film family. In Lopud Artist Retreat I see a possibility to rest, to face my fears in a supporting community, to get my strength back and to work on my script.”
